Horace "Moose" Bear began window installation back in the late 70's, and was joined by his son Jeff Bear in the early 80's. They worked out of Horace's garage and driveway until 1986 when they named and incorporated the current name JMD Architectural Products and moved into more permanent facilities. Jeff Bear took over inside operations of JMD in the early 90's while his dad continued to work as a field supervisor and installer. In the mid 90's Horace retired from JMD and turned everything completely over to Jeff. Since then JMD has continued as one of the top glazing subcontractors in Ohio.

JMD has gone from basic storefront shopping center installations, to now along with the smaller jobs, installing multi-story curtainwall projects, large school projects with operable windows, or the sprawling campus of a new hospital facility with many material types. In the office, JMD has gone from all on the board drafting to all AutoCAD based drafting. JMD will continue to grow, but not beyond our means, as the wish is always to remain a small company that is personable and stays close to the local general contractor and architect base. JMD will be around for many years to come, and will be putting their signature of installation on many buildings throughout the western Ohio area. |
